POSTURE LAB SERIES: Session 4

  • School of Modern Meditation 1 Howe Street, First Floor Auckland, Auckland, 1011 New Zealand (map)

POSTURE LAB SERIES: Align Your Body–Awaken Your Breath

This series of four monthly YOGA Workshops explores the connections between posture, breath and wellbeing.

Learn about functional anatomy in yoga poses, breath mechanics, and yogic philosophy. Explore how yoga postures and breathwork can improve your posture and positively affect your mind and mood and soothe your nervous system, stimulating mental clarity.

Each session will include theory, practice, and breathwork. 💜 🧡

Session 4: Recap + Review

  • This will be a recap session where we reflect back and pick the highlights to integrate, review, and explore a little deeper into everything we have already covered.

  • Each person will be able to ask about a specific issue they are facing and if it is within my realm of knowledge or experience, I can give you ideas.

  • Ways how yoga philosophical teachings can be integrated into your physical practice to deepen your understanding of the mind-body connection.

  • Explore the concept of Sthira (steadiness) and Sukha (ease) in relation to posture and breath.

  • A delicious, breathwork practice to cultivate mindfulness and inner balance followed by a guided meditation.

  • And to end off, a group reflection on the journey (this is optional).

ABOUT:

Rahle has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for 10 years, but has been practising for over 20 years. Her deep interest in functional anatomy in the yoga postures and breathing inspires her teaching to support students to understand their bodies better. Throughout her yoga journey, she has been studying yoga philosophy and loves to share this wisdom in relatable and contextual ways in her classes and workshops. She encourages curiosity and joy in her classes. It’s also very important to her that everyone feels welcome and comfortable in the class.

Yoga is more than just a practice to her. It’s a way of life, a way of being.
